Alexandra Kirschbaum

Alex Kirschbaum is a family law lawyer and the owner of Kirschbaum & Co.

Alex represents clients in all family law matters, from domestic contracts to mediation and litigation. Having worked on hundreds of files, Alex uses her experience, together with her talent for effective oral and written advocacy, to create persuasive and innovative legal arguments, both inside and outside the courtroom.

Alex has acted for clients in the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal. She has represented clients in jurisdictions across the province, including London/Middlesex, Ottawa, Kenora and across the East Region.

Alex is also a member of Legal Aid Ontario’s Family Law and Child Protection Law Panels, and can accept Legal Aid certificates for the most serious cases. Alex believes that individuals facing challenging family law matters require robust and vigorous representation, regardless of their ability to pay.

Alex is also a member of the Office of the Children's Lawyer Personal Rights Legal Panel.  She regularly represents the views and preferences of children.

In addition to her legal practice, Alex writes widely on topics related to family law and appears occasionally in the media – print and radio – to discuss new developments in the law. Her opinion pieces have appeared in newspapers across the country, including the Toronto Star and the Ottawa Citizen.

Alex attended Osgoode Hall Law School, where she graduated, in 2012, and where she received the Honorable William G. C. Howland Award of Excellence and the Charles Edward Woodrow Award.

Alex was called to the bar of Ontario in 2013.  She is a member of the County of Carleton Law Association.
